My interpretation for this piece is that she has a stunning passion for someone or something (resembling as a lion) and she knows she'll have huge consequences for it (hence the blood from the tiger's blood).
Her back. She isn't arched against the tiger as many people are apparently perceiving. Her back is straight, so his claws are able to dig into it.
Also, this is a lovely piece with infinite interpretations. I love things like this, especially when there is no explanation. The viewer should be able to make his or her own interpretation with every piece of art and that is exactly what this does.
Is this what passion actually looks like? To me, both are the same person, just different sides: the passionate side and the angst side... Either way, it's a superb piece of art, one that makes the viewer think.
